What is Meat?
Meat refers to any animal flesh that is eaten as a food source. It is often high in protein content and will vary in how fat or lean the cut is. Meat is eaten fresh and processed. Processed examples include bacon, deli meats, and sausages. Red meat includes beef, pork, veal, bison, goat, lamb, and mutton. Poultry is another category of meat, specifically from fowls such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese.
