Decaf coffee is coffee beans that have been treated to remove about 97% of the caffeine, and then roasted and ground before being brewed with hot water. It may have a milder and less bitter flavor than regular coffee.

What does Decaf Coffee Taste Like?

The second is done by a freeze-drying method. Instant coffee is cooked down to a thick consistency, this is then put into a deep freeze. Once frozen it is broken down into granules, then put through a heat process to extract the remaining water. Once water is reintroduced to instant coffee it is ready to drink and can be made hot or cold.
